Are you old enough to remember Lee Majors in The Six-Million Dollar Man? Remember the opening line of each show?
Steve Austin, astronaut. A man barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world’s first bionic man. . . . Better than he was before. Better. Stronger. Faster.
It was one of my favorite shows as a young boy. If you haven’t seen it, you can check out the iconic opening sequence here:
It’s a bit like what LifeGroups can do for you–make you better than you were before. Better. Stronger. Faster. Well, probably not faster.
Now, maybe you haven’t crashed and burned as Steve Austin did. Maybe you aren’t in need of miraculous, sci-fi-esque surgery to make you walk again. But—if we’re honest—we all can use some help in our spiritual walk from time-to-time. We all have room for improvement.
And LifeGroups are a great tool to help build you into the person God designed you to be.
There’s something compelling about regularly meeting with people who share your life with you. The encouragement, motivation, laughter, friendship, and spiritual support that come from one another are tools that help us grow. All of these are blessings of the Holy Spirit living in you and working through those around you.
If you aren’t part a LifeGroup, now is the perfect time to jump in. This weekend, Frank is starting a five-week sermon series called Going Green. It’s a study of the book of James. And we’re launching several new LifeGroups to track with his series.
We’re kicking things off with a dessert supper on Saturday, September 15, from 6:00 to 7:00. You’ll get to meet your group, catch the vision of the series, and begin a journey that can make you better, stronger, faster.
