During the month of October, Free Space Faith Community held a canned food drive at the bingo hall. We were astounded by the generosity and participation of bingo hall patrons as over 3500 canned food and miscellaneous items were collected!

Every Monday, Bibles and Bread, led by Pastor Jody White, gives away food to anyone who comes to them to receive it. They serve approximately 50 families in the Sansom Park and northside area as they share the Gospel. Free Space contacted Bibles and Bread to offer our canned food items to take to their church location. They were very glad to accept. They shared that they never know where food is going to come from, but God always provides! Here you see one of the 8 vehicles they brought that we loaded with food.

It took 20 volunteers to load the vehicles with all of the food. Here you see John Foreman and Marcus Foote celebrating the last load

and a Bibles & Bread volunteer loading the last 2 cartons with Marcus Foote on the right, while Pastor White is looking on.

Here are some of the volunteers from Bibles & Bread. Pastor White and his wife, Valerie, are on the far right. Thank You, God, for the opportunity to team up with Bibles & Bread to make a difference!

After we finished loading the goods, Pastor Jody White led some of the people from Free Space in a brief message and prayer. He told the story of a homeless man who came to receive some food and his life was powerfully changed by the Gospel. He simply needed a hand up and some support. Now he is back on his feet, has a job and is serving others for Jesus! It is amazing what God can do when we all team up together! Even in places where we least expect it, God’s generosity through His people is at work! Through 2 small church communities and a bingo hall, people’s lives are being transformed as they are fed food and the Gospel!
