So what’s going on the with the building remodel project? You’ve probably thought this question to yourself or heard someone else ask it out loud.
Things are progressing. Architect plans have been signed. We spoke to several general contracting company representatives before going ahead. Now, we’re applying for permits and all the plan reviews that are required (ADA, demolition surveys, etc.). The building committee is diligently working with me on making sure things are done right. We take being good stewards of your financial gifts very seriously.
If you haven’t wandered to the back of the building, you may not be aware that work is being done. The nursery has been moved to its temporary location in room 121 in preparation for the construction. Several classrooms have been painted and new carpet installed, including in room 119. With it being as simple as switching up the carpet in the classroom, for example, this could make a big difference to the overall aesthetic. The same applies to change the flooring in the kitchen or an office. It could even be a quick google search into something like
Carpets Fitter Yeovil to find a professional to get the job done.
Additionally, we are also in the process of working with contractors to install a fabric building in the rear of the building for storage purposes. There are many fabric building uses which will compliment the building – albeit it will be mostly used for storage of equipment and furniture. We have been looking into additional storage anyway and are discussing the possibility of finding a company who make sheds in KY so that we can have something more permanent after the remodel.
Our preschoolers will be enjoying the updated rooms this weekend for Sunday School. And the adults will be enjoying room 119.
Thank you for your faithful and generous gifts to help Lighthouse care for kids.
