Because we love children and desire to protect them, Lighthouse requires all staff members and volunteers working with our children to complete a 4 Step Safety Process before ministry work or volunteer placement can begin. We also have a member of our “Eyes and Ears” security team present in the children’s area during all worship times. Our check-in/out system requires that each child and parent wear matching system generated stickers. Any person checking out a child must have the appropriately matching sticker.
When your children visit Lighthouse for the first time, they will need to be registered. Registration provides a pick up sticker for you and a name tag for your child at each visit. Children are not released to adults without the correct sticker. Please come to the check-in station to get appropriate paperwork and check your children in.
Once you check in your child at the check in station and will receive 2 tags, one with your name and one with your child/ren’s name. After the service, you will return to your child’s room and show your tag in order for your child to be released back to you. The next time you come and any time after you will find your child’s name in the database, you and your child will be given matching identification tags that are exclusive to your family and your visit. Your child will need to wear the name tag portion while you keep the matching tag. In the event that we need to contact you during the service, we will do so via text message or phone call. We ask that you exit the auditorium immediately and go directly to the room where you checked in your child at the beginning of the service.
- Do You Serve Children with Special Needs?
Do you have a child with special needs? Lighthouse has a Buddy program, designed to serve families with special needs by providing a dedicated volunteer to be with your child while you attend service.
Our “Kids Cash” program is and incentive program to encourage learning within our Lighthouse Kids. Children can earn Kids cash for things such as participation, attendance, scripture memorization and more! The kids can then “purchase” items from the Kids Cash Store weekly or save up their Kids Cash for bigger items.
Our curriculum has follow-up tools for parents, and we send home review questions and lessons so that you can continue conversations at home by asking your child questions like, “What did you learn at church this week?” or “What was your favorite part of the service? Check out The Parent Cue for more helpful information, articles and ideas!
Please be sure to ask any of our volunteers or staff if you have questions, or you can email ajirik@LFwired.org
