This year’s Mighty Machines was a mighty event! We had over 900 of our neighbors join us for the fun. That is more than double last year’s attendance, which is pretty incredible considering that the event had to be rescheduled for the weekend before a holiday!
The property was full of machines of all kinds. Bulldozers, excavators, dump trucks, ATVs, a boat and a helicopter, over 15 machines in all! We also had first responder departments from Azle, Eagle Mountain and Fort Worth all come out with their vehicles and share with the community.
Children and their families enjoyed a number of activities in addition to viewing and playing in the machines: an inflatable slide and obstacle course, sidewalk chalk and bubble station, and a very popular dirt pile filled with mini machine toys! We also had five food trucks serving up delicious grub.
We collected over 1,000 canned goods that will be donated to Community Link which will help them in their mission to alleviate hunger by providing, at no charge, food and personal care items to those in need in Northwest Tarrant County. For more information about Community Link and the amazing services they provide visit their website here.
A big thank you to the over 30 volunteers who came out to help collect canned goods, direct traffic, attend bounce houses and vehicles and provide information for our guests! We could not have pulled this event off without all of you. We had many people, several of which had never been to Lighthouse before, express their gratitude to us for opening our property to them and providing a fun and exciting activity to do with their families.
Can you say, GO GOD!?
