Fasting From Something
Feb 22, 2026 • Dan Morris
We’ve all felt it—praying hard and wondering if God is really listening. In Mark 9, the disciples face that same frustration when they can’t heal a desperate boy, and Jesus’ answer points to deeper dependence: some breakthroughs only come through prayer and fasting. Fasting isn’t a formula; it’s a reminder that we rely on God, not ourselves. Like the father who cried, “I believe—help my unbelief,” we’re invited to bring our doubts honestly and pursue spiritual depth over comfort. Prayer and fasting don’t earn God’s favor—they position our hearts to trust His power.
