If God is good, why is the world so bad? Suffering can make God feel distant, uncaring, or even responsible for the pain we experience. But Scripture gives us a different picture: evil was never God's intended design, human freedom has real consequences, and death itself is called an enemy. Yet God is so wise and powerful that He can take what was intended for evil and work through it for good. The clearest evidence is Jesus, who didn't remain distant from suffering but entered into it, carried it on the cross, and defeated sin and death through His resurrection. We may not always understand why suffering happens, but we can trust the God who has suffered for us and is working to make all things new.
